The Sick Soul
The Sick Soul
30 mL
Osmanthus blooms against the metallic hush of blood and mineral salt, dissolving slowly into worn leather, steeped black tea, and the fevered intimacy of skin. The fragrance lingers close to the body — seductive at first, then quietly corrosive.
Inspired by William James’ The Varieties of Religious Experience and Sufi understandings of spiritual impurity as distance from Divine Love, The Sick Soul moves through longing, ego, obsession, and emotional hunger. It inhabits the moment desire becomes devotional and dangerous simultaneously.
There is tenderness here, but also decay.

The Sick Soul
A beautiful unraveling.
I’ve lived illness disguised as vanity;
a reckless waste of longing.
By fear and strain,
the palettes of greed remain
ever-refreshed.
A bleeding flower sets the tone
for chilling bones
of souls alone.
I do not believe I exist for tragedy, you see—
for I am
mortal, wondrous,
strange, and coy.
Please Note
Graciously allow 1–3 weeks for processing, as each fragrance is prepared slowly by hand in small batches.
Ribat El-Amar compositions are built around rare and materially dense aromatic extractions — including precious absolutes, resins, tinctures, oils, woods, and unfiltered natural materials that are sourced meticulously and impossible to reproduce identically at scale. In order to preserve both material integrity and sustainability, production remains intentionally limited.
Because of the living nature of these materials, subtle variations in colour, sediment, texture, and aromatic character may naturally develop over time and between batches. Darkening, soft separation, and shifts in depth or warmth are expected aspects of the fragrance’s evolution rather than defects.
Each perfume is composed at a parfum concentration and designed to unfold intimately on the body while maintaining a deep and enduring presence. These are layered, highly concentrated works intended to evolve slowly through wear, atmosphere, skin, and time.
